Special Needs Children Embrace Mumbai’s Ganesh Darshan

Special Kids Embrace Mumbai’s Ganesh Darshan

New Delhi (India), October 4: Around 100 children with special needs from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane areas, along with their parents, had a darshan of their tall and majestic Bappa of the Khetwadi area, which attracts Ganesha devotees from all over the world, yesterday morning.

The faces of the children and their parents were overflowing with joy as they laid their heads on the feet of their Bappa and saw his attractive appearance. These special children are amazed at the devotion in the hearts of their parents and the idol of the great Bappa and their joyful faces. Also, seeing the therapists of the Child Rehabilitation Center (CRC) guiding them, a different happiness was seen on the faces of all the co-ordinators of Khetwadi Ganesh Mandal.

Surprisingly, the activists who asked the Ganesha devotees to take the darshan immediately were seen today requesting the children and their parents to wait a little longer.

The rain that had been present since Saturday took a break yesterday. The rain definitely should have halted yesterday so that these special needs children and their parents could have a spiritual darshan of their beloved bappa.

Child Rehabilitation Center, an organization that provides treatment to autistic children and provides in-depth guidance for their overall developmental, learning and behavioural problems, organized this Ganarai Darshan for special children. Child Rehabilitation Center is an organization that has been providing darshan of Mumbai’s famous Ganpati to special needs children and their parents for the last 13 years. “The purpose of this is to make it easier for special needs children to integrate into society, and to develop social communication skills in them and to create awareness among different sections of the society about child disability and its treatment. This information was given by Dr. Sumit Shinde, Founder Director of Child Rehabilitation Center, Occupational Therapist.

Dr. Sumit Shinde added, “special needs (autistic) children have certain behavioral problems. They don’t mix easily with others like normal children. So parents avoid taking them to social events. This creates more fear in these children. On the contrary, parents who involve their children in small and big programs in society develop them relatively faster .” Dr. Sumit Shinde also thanked Ganapati Mandals in Khetwadi area for their active co-operation.

Special arrangements made by Grantroad cha Mahaganpati,  Lokmanya Tilak Mandai Sarvajanik Shree Ganesh Utsav Mandal & Mandals Karyakarta Ganesh Goyal, Surendra Ghosalkar, Ashok Gaikwad, Aakash Sannake, Anand Sannake, Bhavesh Vichare, Hari Nadu managed traffic and helped everyone to get VIP entry at all khetwadi ganesh, Pravin Sannake arranged parking for busses in such a crowded area, Abdul Shaikh & Vinay Shinde, helped to get the permission for direct Darshan.

“It is the effort of all our Ganesha Bhakta Mandals to increase the attraction of Ganeshotsavs of Mumbai to the world and to show people the different forms of Ganesha. But seeing the expressions of happiness on the faces of the self-directed children who are engrossed in their own world, our hard work was worthwhile today,” said Ganaraj Mandal (12th Street) of Khetwadi President said on this occasion and also gave opportunity to children and parents to perform aarti for Bappa.
